I have just started growing my nails out and want to know if there are any products that can be purchased to make the growing time a bit speedier. Are there any foods that make them grow faster/stronger?I am looking for a good product or a certain food that will make my nails grow faster and stay strong?
Certain foods and vitamin supplements will give you long, healthy nails. But it takes a while for them to get to that point.
If you want to grow your nails twice as much in one week, all you need to do is massage the cuticle with your fingertip for about 10 seconds. Do this while using olive oil, vaseline, baby oil or any kind of lotion to keep the cuticles soft and prevent them from drying out while you rub them. Only a small amount is needed on each nail. Do this every day or even a couple times a day and you'll have longer nails by the end of the week.
Things that don't work, and people often get confused and think it does...gelatin tablets or eating Jello. They honestly do not do a thing unless you have a HUGE amount, and you can even look it up if you aren't sure.
Pre-natal pills you have to be careful with. You can't take them if you're on birth control, lest you get a tumor in your liver and die. And you risk the chance of getting pregnant if you're taking them without using any kind of protection while you have sex. So it's your call. The vitamins and healthy foods are good, but like I said, they don't act as quickly as massaging the cuticle. (This stimulates it helping to produce more growth, it's the same with your scalp as well.)
More on the Jello myth...
';Is it true that eating Jello will make your nails stronger?
For the most part this is a myth. Yes, in theory gelatin, the ingredient in Jello associated with strengthening nails, does if fact do so, but you could not possibly eat enough to make a substantial difference. Once the consumed gelatin enters the blood stream, it is distributed throughout the body and thus the nails never get a concentrated enough dosage - same goes for milk and calcium. But Jello tastes good so enjoy it! Grrr... now I have a craving for raspberry Jello!'; taken from this website - http://www.waningmoon.com/nails/faq.shtm鈥?/a>I am looking for a good product or a certain food that will make my nails grow faster and stay strong?
well there is this cream i use (its for dryu skin 2) it is called utterly smooth and u can get itt at drug stores. it sounds gross but it smells good and it works. you can also eat the crust obn your bread.
Eat a well balanced meal with 1% milk with vitamins A and D in it. Or take a multi-vitamin supplement everyday with your biggest meal, like dinner. Eat from all food groups.
Go out and buy Jello or those gelatin vitamin supplements.
Drink water, stay hydrated. Not to much water, can die of overuse of water consumption. Seen and heard of that radio station game. Women drank to much without going to the bathroom and died of the 2 gallons of water in her.
As far as nail polish goes, I highly recommend Sally Hansen Miracle Cure to start...use for about a week or 2, then switch to Sally Hansen Maximum Growth. I have used both and my nails are now very long and strong and I did not change my diet at all. This really worked for me so give it a try. Good luck!
Start taking a vitamin suppliment. Prenatals are great and you can get them for a good price. You don't have to be pregnant or trying to get pregnant to use them, but they have all the calcium and other vitamins you'll need for good nails AND hair.
