What is the product formed on iron nails when placed in a CuCl2路2H20 solution? How do you know this?

All I can say is help? I really don't know? Also The solution was a green color before the nails were placed into it, I also need to know what was responsible for this color.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks...What is the product formed on iron nails when placed in a CuCl2路2H20 solution? How do you know this?
Iron added to Copper chloride solution, this is a displacement reaction.

Iron is more reactive than copper, so iron goes into solution and copper comes out of solution.

So you end up with Copper and Iron chloride.

Iron chloride is pale yellow, hence the colour change. You should also have seen black gunk on the nail, this is the copper.
